How we support your business
Cornwall Marine Academy was created to find solutions to problems reported by local Marine employers when trying to employ young people for their future workforce
Employers identified insufficient employability skills, young people lacking awareness of career opportunities in the Marine sector, a lack of any meaningful work-experience and a poor work ethic.
In response, CMA challenged and supported Marine employers to engage in providing solutions to the issue of preparing young people for their future Marine careers.
CMA has now gained an excellent track-record of delivering industry-led programmes; including careers advice, taster sessions, employability skills, work placements at Marine businesses’ premises, industry recognised vocational qualifications, 1:1 mentoring and group-work and training embedded into the school curriculum.

We will work with you to promote careers in the Marine sector to young people (including schools) whilst promoting your business profile.
You’ll also have access to wider business support including work trials, work experience, taster days, mock interviews, opportunities to see and meet young people that could be your next recruit or apprentice.
Our aim is to make sure that you have the opportunities for young people to take within your business, providing you and them with the skills and know-how to make that a success.
