DESCRIPTION:The Cornwall Marine Network Group would like to invite you to our newest Member Discovery event in collaboration with Plymouth Marine Laboratory (PML) from 10:00 – 14:00 on Friday 15th March 2024. \nVenue:\nPlymouth Marine Laboratory | Prospect Pl | Plymouth | PL1 3DH \nAbout the event \nJoin us for an enlightening exploration into the cutting-edge world of marine research at the upcoming event hosted by the Plymouth Marine Laboratory (PML). As a beacon of scientific excellence\, PML is dedicated to unraveling the mysteries of marine and aquatic environments\, shedding light on the challenges they face. \n\nExplore the interplay between marine environments and human society.\nDiscover the linkages and interactions that shape the delicate balance between nature and our communities.\nWitness the fusion of tradition and technology including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning.\nLearn how digital technologies help us efficiently collect\, visualize\, and interpret vast amounts of environmental and biological data\, propelling marine research into the future.\nBe part of the conversation on quantifying the impacts of human-induced stressors on marine ecosystems.\n\nPML’s research doesn’t stop at understanding challenges; it’s about developing actionable solutions and approaches to support the sustainability of our marine ecosystems for generations to come. \nThis event is fully funded by The Local Skills Improvement Fund (LSIF)\, which Cornwall Marine Network is a delivery partner of. The LSIF will provide investment in new facilities and equipment\, fund the development and delivery of new courses and curriculum\, and support excellence in college leadership\, governance and teaching to create a sustainable approach to addressing local skill needs. This follows the publication of employer-led Local Skills Improvement Plans last August\, bringing business and education closer together. \nAgenda \nTBC \nFurther information \nThe event will be held in Plymouth Marine Laboratory and entry to the event is free for all delegates. \nAll delegates can sign in upon entry and there will be name badges for all delegates to collect. These also can be dropped off in the same place upon exiting the venue. \nThere will be photos and video footage of the event which will be published via CMN’s website and social platforms. \nRefreshments will be presented on arrival and over the course of the event. \nShould you have any dietary requirements\, please let us know this upon confirming your place in the event so we can prepare catering accordingly in advance. \nPlease confirm your attendance and any additional dietary requirements as soon as possible by replying to marketing@cornwallmarine.net. Alternatively\, contact the CMN team on 01326 211382 to RSVP or confirm if you are unable to attend. \nDirections \nThe A38 Devon Expressway links Plymouth to the motorway network at Exeter\, giving a drive time from London of around 4.5 hours. \nPlymouth Rail Station is within 30 minutes walk of the venue and there are regular train services from Penzance and London. \nLimited on-site parking is available for visitors in our front car park and can be reserved on request. Paid on-street parking is also available close by. \nOn-site\, access controlled parking is available for staff in the main staff car park. \n
