DESCRIPTION:The Cornwall Marine Network Group and Cornwall Marine Academy would like to invite you to our newest event Waves of Progress: Driving an Inclusive Workplace in collaboration with Childrens Sailing Trust at their Trevassack Lake premises near Helston from 9:00 – 13:30 on Thursday 21st March. \nVenue \nChildrens Sailing Trust Accessible Watersports Centre | Trevassack Lake | Garras | Helston | TR12 6LH \nAbout the event \nJoin us for an inspiring and transformative event dedicated to advancing equality\, diversity\, and inclusion in the workplace. With a focus on accessibility for individuals with physical disabilities and neurodiverse workers\, this event will highlight the profound impact of fostering an inclusive environment\, not only for the workforce but for the broader community. \nOur event will showcase success stories and best practices\, demonstrating how businesses can positively influence societal well-being. \n\nDiscover the intersectionality of promoting workplace equality and social sustainability as we delve into strategies to break down physical and social barriers.\nLearn how fostering accessibility benefits not only individuals but also contributes to a thriving and interconnected community. Our event will showcase success stories and best practices\, demonstrating how businesses can positively influence societal well-being.\nUnderstand the unique geographical\, social\, and economic barriers to inclusion and accessibility that Cornish businesses face.\n\nA range of speakers on the day will share their success stories and best practices\, demonstrating how businesses can positively advocate for\, and influence societal well-being. \nIn addition\, delegates will be greeted to an optional tour of the accessible watersports centre and an organised group swim\, before networking over a warm cuppa in the main centre overlooking the lake. \nCome be part of a dynamic exchange that champions EDI\, and the businesses paving the way in creating an interconnected and sustainable future for all. \nThis event is fully funded by The Local Skills Improvement Fund (LSIF)\, which Cornwall Marine Network is a delivery partner of. The LSIF will provide investment in new facilities and equipment\, fund the development and delivery of new courses and curriculum\, and support excellence in college leadership\, governance and teaching to create a sustainable approach to addressing local skill needs. This follows the publication of employer-led Local Skills Improvement Plans last August\, bringing business and education closer together. \nAgenda \nTBC \nFurther information \nThe event will be held at the Trevassack Lake premises of Childrens Sailing Trust. \nAll delegates can sign in upon entry into the Learning Centre and there will be name badges for all delegates to collect. These also can be dropped off in the same place upon exiting the venue. \nThere will be photos and video footage of the event which will be published via our website and social platforms. \nThis event is fully funded so entry to the event is free. Teas\, coffees and snacks will be presented on arrival with further refreshments also available to purchase from the on-site café. \nShould you have any dietary requirements\, please let us know this upon confirming your place in the event so the venue staff can prepare catering accordingly in advance. \nPlease confirm your attendance and any additional dietary requirements as soon as possible by replying to marketing@cornwallmarine.net. Alternatively\, contact the CMN team on 01326 211382 . \nDirections \nWe recommended that you follow a route to Helston the nearest town. Trevassack Lake is just over 5 miles from Helston. When reaching the outskirts of Helston follow signs for the A3083 The Lizard. Continue on this road and you will pass the Royal Naval Airbase – RNAS Culdrose. As you come to the end of the Naval Airbase you will reach a roundabout joining with the B3293 – St Keverne\, Gweek and Coverack. Take the first exit onto the B3293. Continue on the B3293 at next roundabout take the third exit\, stay on the B3293. After 1.5 miles you will see a turning on your right almost opposite two large granite gateposts to Trelowarren. Turn right here and follow the road carefully for half a mile.
