CMN Weekly Update

Dear CMN members,

A number of you applied for the most recent Cornwall Council – Additional Restrictions Grant, and whilst the final analysis of applicant businesses will complete in the next two weeks, we know a number of you have been successful in gaining a cash grant at 50% of the value you expected. Cornwall Council paid the 50% of grant because this meant they could then distribute money to all eligible businesses who applied. In the Budget announced a week ago, the Chancellor allocated an additional £461 million of Additional Restrictions Grant nationally, so providing Cornwall Council gains around £5 million of this additional money, our current understanding is the Council intend to ‘top up’ the recent ARG grants to the full 100%. We encourage members to keep a watchful eye on this as we fully appreciate any cash helps at the moment.

We will offer further updates when information is known.

Due to the record volume of new project funding won by CMN during 2020-2021, we have doubled our specialist support team and will very shortly be sharing details of what is the biggest range of member services we have offered in our history, at a time when many of you need more help than ever before. The team at CMN has successfully bid for and won more than £9 million of new business, turnover to CMN means services to Members. Our expert team of 46 will be able to support you to improve digital marketing, workforce skills, improve productivity and bring product innovations to market.

CMN has also been approved as a Kickstart Gateway (see below for further information) meaning we can support you to employ unemployed young people aged 16 to 24 years, including a grant and wages paid for by the government. As part of the growing package of new support services, we will shortly be launching managed workspace to support new business start-up’s as we slowly emerge from the pandemic.

Kind regards
Paul
CMN CEO
