Cornwall Marine Network - Data Confidentiality

We have been made aware that some of our Cornwall Marine Network members have been receiving emails from rogue list brokers claiming to have access to Cornwall Marine Network data list for sale.

This scam is where members are contacted by people fraudulently claiming to have and sell the networks member lists. Please know that Cornwall Marine Network does not rent, share, or sell your email or physical address to any third parties or list brokers. Your dealings with us are entirely confidential and always have been.

These scammers are trying to phish for your information and gain access to financial resources. The companies have no association with Cornwall Marine Network or any of our group of businesses

Please do not engage with and/or acquire/purchase any list from any company claiming to have use of the Cornwall Marine Network database, or contact information as it puts you and others’ contact information at risk.

Oftentimes, responding to these emails (even to “unsubscribe”) confirms to them that they have reached a valid email address

If you do receive any further emails that contain or purport to be from Cornwall Marine Network, please forward them to networkoffice@cornwallmarine.net or to your trusted CMN contact e-mail and we will ensure we add to our public blocking lists.

In no way have they accessed our secure data so is not a hack but rather a scam, we have secure process in place to ensure the data we carry is fully secure and compliant with GDPR. We have referred the scam to the authorities because it is attempted theft.
