The OCNLR Level 1 Award in Understanding Safeguarding in a Learning Environment has been developed i) to enable learners to be taught about safeguarding within the context of their own learning environment, and ii) to help schools and colleges identify and respond to concerns about the safeguarding and protection of children, young people and vulnerable adults. The qualification aims to help learners understand the policies and procedures for safeguarding in their own learning environment and why safeguarding is important.
