Responsible to: Cornwall Marine Academy (CMA) & Cornwall Apprenticeship Agency (CAA) Compliance Manager Job type: Full time Location: Cornwall Marine Network (CMN) offices in Falmouth, Cornwall. Salary: Competitive salary will reflect expertise and experience of the successful applicant. Purpose: The role of the CAA Project & Recruitment Executive will be to plan, coordinate and deliver activities/events that support the progression of young people into Apprenticeships and employment and actively contribute to the success of employability programmes delivered by CMN and the CAA. You will build strong working relationships with all CMN colleagues, foster and maintain excellent relationships with all external stakeholders. The responsibility involved is high profile and requires a high level of team and customer interface, whilst maintaining appropriate confidentiality. Key responsibilities: The Project & Recruitment Executive will work closely with the Project Coordinator and CMA & CAA Compliance Manager to deliver ESF projects on time/target and work to bring together businesses and Apprentices to help both parties succeed in their recruitment objectives and career aspirations. Duties will include: Liaising with employers and Skills Brokers to help identify Apprenticeship vacancies; Work closely with the Project Coordinator to advertise vacancy (.Gov, social media, website), receive CVs, shortlist applicants, carry out telephone interviews, arrange interviews, provide feedback, produce case studies, keeping employers updated on Apprenticeship vacancy progress; Lead on National Apprenticeship Week promotion; Liaise with Finance Manager to invoice employers for Apprenticeship vacancy fees and monitor payments; Provide updates at CMN vacancy review meetings; Provide Information, Advice and Guidance to young people who may not be ready for an Apprenticeship or succeed the first time in the recruitment process; signing them up or signposting them to training or development/employability programmes delivered by the CMN Group of Companies or external organisations; Offer comprehensive support to young people and help them move into positive progressions by accurately completing sign up/on project/exit paperwork with project participants and giving career advice and action planning project activity with participants; Develop and deliver enhanced support to unsuccessful applicants and potential applicants, including through Pre-Apprenticeship support, inclusive recruitment methods and Selection Days; Liaise with the Employability Skills Tutor to complete telephone/video interviews; Liaising with wider team re: employer talks, site visits, work placements; Deliver the Grow Apprentices/Future Peninsular 3 (FP3) offer; pre-Apprenticeship support and mentoring in the first 3 months of the Apprenticeship; Work closely with external partners to deliver the FP3 project; Signposting to other training and wider CMN project support; Work closely with the Compliance Manager on reporting; Attend publicity and networking events promoting the CAA as requested. Suggest and support improvements to the way the CAA operates with a view to constantly improve the quality of CAA services; Work with the team to develop the range of CAA services available to SME businesses to fill gaps in the marketplace and drive the sustainability of the CAA; Create and modify documents using Microsoft Office (incl. Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Additional responsibilities as required will include: Participate in team development activity; Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality; Any other duties consistent with the grade and general responsibilities of the post as may, in addition, be required from time to time. Person’s specification: Essential Criteria: Qualified to at least Level 3, or equivalent qualification, is desirable or over two years’ demonstrable experience in relevant field; Have excellent organisational and administrative skills with the ability to self-motivate, in particular have excellent time management skills; Have excellent inter-personal skills with the ability to relate to people at different levels of an organization, have excellent customer service skills and be of smart appearance; Proven ability to deliver on targets; Flexible, adaptable, able to work on own initiative with can-do attitude; Able to accept the responsibility of leading on or taking responsibility of some project delivery and co-ordination; Willingness to undertake personal and career development; A high level of computer literacy, particularly in the use of Windows programmes, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook (including online platforms i.e. Zoom/Teams); Team player with an ability to work on tight deadlines as part of a close-knit team; Own, reliable car / transport with full clean driving license; Commitment to Equal Opportunities and environmental efficiency practice; Key CMN Accountabilities The role of the Project & Recruitment Executive will need to: Information Security and Governance: Manage information in line with the CMN’s policies, procedures and guidance on subjects such as Data Protection, Freedom of Information, confidentiality, information security and sharing, the information lifecycle and data quality, to ensure compliance and efficient and effective information governance; Safeguarding: Maintain awareness of CMN’s policies and practices regarding the safeguarding of children, young people and/ or adults who may be at risk. Report concerns/ allegations in accordance with corporate guidance and procedures; Equality & Diversity and the Prevent Agenda: Work to eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation and report incidents as they occur. Treat everyone with dignity and respect and ensure individual’s needs are met.
