Fugro is now seeking a Proposal Manager / Estimator to join the Marine Infrastructure Solutions team based in Falmouth, Cornwall. As part of this rewarding role, the Proposal Manager will review and understand a potential client’s ITT/RFQs to prepare a proposal and price for submission in line with the client’s timeframe requirements.
Our successful candidate will play a major role in supporting the business in securing projects for profitable growth. You will also need to prepare a proposal handover package to facilitate meetings with the project delivery teams and engage with a network of known and new clients throughout the proposal process.

Who you’ll be working with:
Working within the Marine Infrastructure Solutions commercial team you will work with multiple departments including Technical, Operations, Commercial, Tax, Legal and Strategic Sales & Marketing from offices across the UK to ensure alignment and cohesion of Fugro’s proposed solution.
More locally, you will need to consult heavily with our Marine Site Characterisation operational teams and project delivery teams within our UK offices to ensure proposed solutions are safe, profitable and risk is appropriately mitigated. There will also be opportunities to engage with our global offices to find the optimal proposal structure for projects outside of the UK.
Here’s what a typical day would be like:
Act as a point of contact for Marine Infrastructure Proposals within and outside the Fugro group
Responsible for the proposal process – including all technical, commercial and contractual aspects (Supported by team members)
Commercial, technical and operational bid reviews
Form a business strategy and produce detailed concise proposals based on conditions of contract
Prepare prices based on market intelligence, business strategy, collation of proposal submission data and review of each bid prior to submission
Prepare bid/no bid analysis for review & approval by the line manager
Commercial and technical negotiation with client to secure contract to award
Attend and conduct client meetings (Via Skype or in person, UK and/or overseas)
Responsible for engaging with subcontractors/suppliers during the proposal process to ensure best value and technical solutions are achieved.
Produce cashflow forecasts as part of the commercial evaluation

Degree/HND qualified or equivalent
Experienced with working in international teams
An understanding of a variety of forms of conditions of contract would be a benefit.
