Good Morning
We are emailing you today, as we would like to let you know about research that the FSB are conducting with businesses that we feel would really like your involvement with.
We’d like to get as many member businesses involved in this important research

Here is some background and the details:
FSB Cornwall & Isles of Scilly is continuing to lead the Local Skills Improvement Plan on behalf of Skills England and again, we are working in close partnership, with Cornwall Council. Our role is to drive real change by tackling gaps in skills provision, improving access to support, and increasing awareness of local training. We are developing a practical, employer-led plan, and it is vital that it reflects real business experience.
The plan is set in statute, which means the actions it sets out must be delivered. To make sure it leads to meaningful outcomes, we need employers to share evidence of the skills challenges they face, including issues with recruiting people who have the right skills and behaviours to help their business grow and adapt. We want to understand what holds you back now and what support you will need in the future.
The Local Skills Improvement Plan is about action, not paperwork. By working directly with employers and testing what works in practice, we can identify the right actions, backed by government, that will make a genuine difference to businesses across the area.
A summary of the outcomes from the previous Local Skills Improvement Plan is available here: https://bit.ly/49xvsyy
Employer feedback has already translated into tangible action. We therefore encourage employers to continue shaping the future by participating in the relevant focus group for their business.
Any employers operating within the marine sector are invited to book a free place to share their views. These sessions are open to employers of all sizes and locations across the area, and your contribution is vital!
Please click here to find out more about all of the local LSIP focus groups/workshops and to book onto any of the above, before they all fill up.
Please only book a place if your business is relevant to the specific industry as places are limited. We’ll also be publishing further dates and more ways to get involved very soon so do keep checking back to our LSIP dedicated website.
Kind Regards
The CMN Team
