Community
Cornwall Marine Network is at its roots all about the Cornish economy and the people that contribute to its success. Our work in the community is underpinned by our core values and mission to help grow the Cornish economy through support to Cornwall’s world-class marine sector. By reaching into our communities through initiatives such as the Build a Boat project and the Positive People project, we are able to find the next generation of talent to work in the marine industry and beyond.
We recognise that the people who work in our businesses are their greatest asset, by supporting the individuals who work in these organisations both whilst in employment and out of employment we strive to ensure the Cornish workforce is well prepared for the ever-increasing opportunities in the marine sector.
Using a combination of funding streams, we are able to support the businesses to become more competitive whilst also supporting the training and development needs of their staff. Using our experience of both European Regional Development Funds (ERDF) and European Social Funds (ESF) we design and implement award-winning projects that combine support for the businesses and the people that work in them.
Using mainstream Government funding we are able to deliver a range of innovative employability qualifications to job seekers, which include Work Skills. These courses are adapted to ensure they are accessible to all members of the Cornish community, we run specialist courses for lone-parents and 50+ individuals at different venues across the county.
If you are an individual who would like support to get back into work, an organisation that needs support to develop its workforce or want to know more about our innovative approach to community get in touch.
Our role at CMN is to ensure that a rising tide really does raise all boats.
