We now require a full-time, fully-qualified and experienced Marine Electrician. There are positions available for all levels of experience.

Job description
The role of Marine Electrician includes the following:
• Fitting all components, enclosers, trunking and tray
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings
• Installing engine electrical systems from detailed drawings and schematics
• Evaluating the operation of marine equipment during acceptance trials and shakedown cruises
• Conferring with supervisors and design personnel in order to clarify or resolve problems, and to develop or modify designs
• Conducting environmental, operational or performance tests on marine machinery and equipment, and investigating and observing them to ensure compliance with operational and safety standards
• Preparing technical reports for use by engineering, management or sales personnel
• Maintaining records of engineering department activities, including details of equipment maintenance and repairs.
Essential skills
• Good working knowledge and experience of working with marine electrical and electronic systems
• Knowledge of marine electronic systems such as Raymarine, Garmin and Simrad
• Ability to work with 12/24V DC and 240V AC systems
• Ability to work well within a team
• Ability to work in a clean and productive manner
• Willingness to undertake additional tasks outside of these requirements for the benefit of the Company and its operations.
Desirable skills
• Knowledge of NMEA 2000 or other Can Bus equipment would be useful
• Knowledge of EmpirBus would be useful
• Previous experience of new build and refit projects would be advantageous.
Location
The usual place of work for this role is the Mylor Creek Boatyard. There may be a need to travel, at times.
Salary
A competitive and negotiable hourly rate of £10 to £15, dependent on experience.
