About the event

Join us for an enlightening exploration into the cutting-edge world of marine research at the upcoming event hosted by the Plymouth Marine Laboratory (PML). As a beacon of scientific excellence, PML is dedicated to unraveling the mysteries of marine and aquatic environments, shedding light on the challenges they face.

  • Explore the interplay between marine environments and human society.
  • Discover the linkages and interactions that shape the delicate balance between nature and our communities.
  • Witness the fusion of tradition and technology including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning.
  • Learn how digital technologies help us efficiently collect, visualize, and interpret vast amounts of environmental and biological data, propelling marine research into the future.
  • Be part of the conversation on quantifying the impacts of human-induced stressors on marine ecosystems.

PML’s research doesn’t stop at understanding challenges; it’s about developing actionable solutions and approaches to support the sustainability of our marine ecosystems for generations to come.

This event is fully funded by The Local Skills Improvement Fund (LSIF), which Cornwall Marine Network is a delivery partner of. The LSIF will provide investment in new facilities and equipment, fund the development and delivery of new courses and curriculum, and support excellence in college leadership, governance and teaching to create a sustainable approach to addressing local skill needs. This follows the publication of employer-led Local Skills Improvement Plans last August, bringing business and education closer together.
