We are seeking an Able Seaman to work onboard Scillonian III working out of Penzance on a 2 week on/off rotation. The Isles of Scilly Steamship Group is unique in the UK in terms of its breadth of transport operations including shipping, airline and airport services; providing lifeline links for both passengers and freight between the Isles of Scilly and the mainland. The Group operates the Gry Maritha, which provides all year-round freight services to the Isles of Scilly and the Scillonian III passenger vessel which operates March to November. Duties Perform vessel mooring, gangway and cargo operations Assist passengers when boarding and disembarking vessels Maintenance including rope work, painting, greasing and cleaning of accommodation, deck, hold and machinery spaces as directed Watch keeping duties, including become proficient as a helmsman Minimum requirements Navigational Watch Rating certificate, EDH and PSCRB Designated Security Duties Mandatory STCW certificates ENG1 medical certificate. Strong candidates not holding all the above mandatory certificates may still be considered.
