This is an apprentice level role. You will be assisting the Supply Chain Manager in carrying out purchasing and stock management tasks to ensure efficient and accurate control of the supply and stock functions. This role is split between the office and warehouse using stock management software and loading and unloading of physical stock.
What you will do in your working day
- To support the Supply Chain Manager in carrying out key, core tasks relating to stock management and purchasing
- Carry out the goods in within the warehouse. Physical receiving of stock and inputting data into the stock control software
- Assistance on quality control by checking stock meets specification
- Facilitate the weekly purchasing functions by placing purchase orders as required
- Ensure all part storage is maintained to a high standard and kept neat, tidy, labelled and that stock is rotated
- Where appropriate issue supplier returns for out of specification stock
- Upkeep both digital and physical stock information across stock management software and delivery note files
- Partake in weekly stock takes alongside Supply Chain Manager
- Support logistics team on occasion in stock management and dispatch of finished goods
- Use internal pallet stacker to manoeuvre stock around warehouse and assist in the loading and unloading of stock and finished goods on to external vehicles
- Waste management and recycling in line with company procedures.
