The Company cleverly integrates traditional boatbuilding skills with innovative engineering and modern techniques to build vessels of the highest quality. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Sprayer/ Team Lead to join our collaborative team that provide a high quality of work and finishes. Main Duties & Responsibilities · Take responsibility for leading and managing the Spray team · Managing the team’s workload, allocating spray tasks to individuals and yourself based on skill-sets and expected turnaround times · Mixing of paints and primers, using a high level of knowledge of different lacquers and suitable primers · Overseeing Spray projects, ensuring prepping before spraying is carried out and good preparation is adhered to prior to final topcoat, to ensure the quality of work produced by the team is to the highest degree ·Regularly liaising with the Pre-Production Manager, identifying any problems at an early stage and putting forward possible solutions ·Use and maintain spray lacquer equipment, ensuring the team have equipment to use that is fit for purpose ·Maintain a safe working environment and ensure all team members work in a safe manner, wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adhere to health and safety requirements at all times ·Identifying gaps in skills within the team and assisting with training and development to enhance workforce skill-set ·Refine and improve existing processes, to ensure the team and work output is operating as efficiently as possible Essential skills/ experience ·· Skilled in furniture spraying, with experience spraying with gravity and air-fed systems · A keen eye for detail · Experience mixing paints and primers, and knowledge of different lacquers and suitable primers · Proven ability leading and motivating others (preferably having worked within a Team Leader/Supervisory capacity previously) · Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team · Experience in reading drawings, templates, and written instructions · Ability to deliver quality items to our high standards and finish, within the correct timeframes · Ability to use problem-solving and critical thinking skills · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills · Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure · Drive, confidence, and a positive pro-active attitude · Able to set and manage expectations effectively Desirable skills · Marine or boat building experience preferred, but not essential · Previously used HVLP and LVLP feed air system · A valid UK driving license Location The place of work is normally at our site in Falmouth, however you may also be required to work at our other site in Mylor and should be flexible to work at either location as required.
