Dear CMN Member,

Many of you will be aware that our long-serving CEO, Paul Wickes is heavily involved in fund raising for two very important local charities, the RNLI and Children’s Hospice South West with his special fund raising friend Betty Stogs (aka Fred Thomas) and friends Simon Knowles and Viv Bray (aka Team Betty).

Together they have supported events in recent years which have raised a staggering £320,000, including running the London Marathon in 2019 and cycling 215 miles from Bristol to St Austell in July, and on Sunday 24th October Paul will join forces again with ‘Team Betty’ to repeat an endurance challenge first accomplished last year to row a home-made raft 10 miles from Truro into Falmouth carrying a barrel of Skinners beer for ballast.

TEAM BETTY will be supported by safety boats and depart Truro at 8.00am and weather permitting hope to arrive in Falmouth around 1pm at Custom House Quay where they will join a welcome party including an afternoon of shanty singing by Bryher’s Boys and Hit & Miss.

Paul has extended an invitation to any CMN members who would like to join in the fun with the free entertainment on Custom House Quay after the event.

If your company is able to make a charitable donation to support Paul and Team Betty then for the RNLI please access the following link:
