Cornwall Marine Network members Saving our Sarah CIC are looking for support to develop it’s restoration and charitable work.
They are embarking on a remarkable journey to restore the RNLB Sarah Townsend Porritt – ON886 to her original glory after 31 years of service, 95 launches, 43 lives saved across 4 stations it served.
Their goal is not only to return her to her service condition while incorporating modern safety and navigation systems to ensure she remains seaworthy whilst updating and preserving her legacy for future generations from an education, training and skills view point.
How you can support the project
They are seeking sponsors and volunteers to get involved in and help support the Saving our Sarah restoration and development, in the short term they are looking for:
Vessel Mooring – The vessel has been moored in Hayle Harbour over the last 3 years as the initial restoration project started but Hayle is quite exposed and as such , they are now seeking a location around Penryn/Falmouth that would allow her to be worked on and stop the exposure in its current mooring.
Vessel Transport – we are looking for companies who can transport or would like to sponsor the transportation of the vessel.
Once she is safe, they can push on with the opportunity to apply for the National Lottery Heritage funding and other grants and support available.
