Dear Member,
CMN invites you to consider joining our new CMN Members Advisory Board. If you could be interested to help us, please notify us of your interest.
The CMN Members Advisory Board will meet quarterly each year to discuss industry trends and members needs and any barriers and challenges to your growth. This will be invaluable support to inform the CMN executive directors on the continued development of new member support services..
We are also creating specialist sub-sector boards to focus on specific areas of our members business, which will meet once a year and the information gathered from these sub-sector boards will then be shared with the main Advisory Board.
Please let us know if you are able to contribute to the boards to help us continually improve our support to you by emailing networkoffice@cornwallmarine.net or please call if you want an informal chat on 01326-211382.
The sub-sector groups will include:
- Ports, Harbours and Marinas
- Ship and Boatbuilding / Boat Repairs
- Marine Manufacturing and Marine Technology
- Marine Leisure – including professional services
- Blue economy Coastal protection and eco systems
- Offshore Renewables (this will be represented by the existing MOR Group)
- Maritime Charities and CIC’s
- Young People
CMN Chair, Peter Child explains: “when CMN was created back in 2002, the founding members became the non-executive directors, this was necessary because the company had no executive employees itself. We have grown significantly to the point we now employ three directors who oversee the governance of the business. This means the role of the non-executive has also steadily changed and become more of an advisory role to the executive directors.
We have now moved away from the convenience of EU funding, which ended at the end of 2023, meaning we need to further strengthen our commercial focus. As we continue to deliver first class employer led support, we want to be ever more agile and alert to market conditions and the challenges you face.
We are also creating specialist sub-sector boards to focus on specific areas of our members business, which will meet once a year and the information gathered from these sub-sector boards will then be shared with the main Advisory Board.
So please as a valued member business, please join us to help us continually improve our developments of new services to support you and your business”.
Please let us know if you are able to contribute to the boards to help us continually improve our support to you by emailing networkoffice@cornwallmarine.net or please call if you want an informal chat on 01326-211382.
