Marine robotics: a vast frontier for development – Public Research Lecture by Dr Jian Wan
Thursday 28 March, 6.30pm
University of Plymouth
What can marine robotics offer in the 21st Century, following the success of autonomous cars and drones? And what role could the University of Plymouth, and the city as a whole, play in the development of marine robotics?
Join Dr Jian Wan, Lecturer in Control Systems Engineering, for an informative talk and Q&A on marine robotics and autonomous sailing technologies for the wider industry, and the future of this rapidly advancing sector.
Connecting the dots between artificial intelligence, marine robotics and big data, he will use autonomous sailing robots to exemplify key research issues such as naval architecture, sensor data fusion, machine learning and multi-agent systems.
Entry is free and open to all, but spaces are limited so booking is advised.
