Cornwall and Isles of Scilly LEP are inviting you to join the Mid-Life MOT Online Event for Employers on Tuesday 20th April from 2pm to 3.30pm, where we will be joined by the Minister for Pensions and Financial Inclusion – Guy Opperman MP. You can register to attend below where you will find further information:-
Cornwall and Isles of Scilly LEP is one of 10 areas to receive £40k funding from Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), as part of a pilot which runs until 23rd April, to test and explore innovative approaches, as to how a ‘Mid-Life MOT’ might be delivered in the current climate. The project is focused on supporting not just individuals with their future plans, but also to support employers with an ageing workforce to also take positive steps.
Taking a Mid-life MOT can benefit everyone:
- For employers it helps drive business growth, increase productivity and improve staff retention.
- For the individual, it can help with planning for the future.
The Mid Life MOT has been designed to help both you as an employer and your employees, to consider their health, skills needs and finances options so that you can begin a conversation about what they might need, to help stay in work and lead fulfilling lives. The ageing population is rising more sharply in Cornwall’s rural population than in other urban areas and many businesses we have spoken to are looking at how they can better support their older workers. We have also developed a web page for individuals which can be shared with your staff, together with a link to a survey.
In order to get a better understanding of the age demographics and feedback on this pilot, we would really appreciate your help in completing this very short survey and more information can be found on the Growth Hub website here.
Other upcoming events include:
- Pensions with Money & Pensions Service (21st April)
- Financial Resilience with Money & Pensions Service (22nd April)
