CMN is urgently seeking support and interest in a new Training Opportunity (a small pilot for 10 people only), for which it is in the process of applying for funding. The Aspiring Leaders Skills Bootmap is a blended learning course spanning 1 day per week for 8.5 weeks.
We are seeking quick responses from members at this stage to express an interest in a small number of employees (or prospective employees) undertake the course, with an email to networkoffice@cornwallmarine.net by 10.30am this Thursday 17th July that confirms:
- Your commitment to creating vacancies or progression opportunities within your business
- Contribute towards the costs of the training (10% for SMEs estimated £230 per learner).
Securing this funding will lead to further opportunities to heavily subsidise support for your business.
More Information
CMN is working on an application to Cornwall Council to deliver a Skills Bootcamp to support employers and their employees who are looking for opportunities for promotion. The Bootcamp is called Aspiring Leaders and, if wanted, could be used to support increased capacity in leadership and management across all of your teams.
The Bootcamp will be delivered using a blended learning approach across 8.5 days and will cover the following topics:
- Intro into Leadership & Management
- Managing People (lv 3 accreditation)
- Handling Conflict
- Intro to Mentoring in the Workplace
- Developing Assertive Behaviour
- Developing Emotional Resilience
Bootcamps are designed to benefit a range of people from those who are unemployed seeking employment to potential apprentices and employees with progression potential. We feel that this is something you might benefit from as part of your workforce development and wanted to explore your interest. I think this would help if you are working towards team leader positions within PDD (and in fact would lead very nicely into a Team Leader Apprenticeship).
As a small business, you would be required to pay 10% of the cost, which is estimated to be £230 per employee (no cost if looking to recruit an unemployed learner however).
As part of the tender submission, we have to submit some letters of support / assurance and so I wondered if you would be willing to do this for us (if you are interested of course). Typically, the deadline (as always) is a bit ridiculous – it’s noon on Thursday of this week!
More information will be available if we are successful, however if you feel this is something you would be keen to participate in, could I trouble you to review / complete / amend the template letter of support I have attached here. You won’t be committed to doing this (although the letter does indicate a level of commitment) but it will help us to secure the funds if you are a little bit keen.
Please do contact Lucy Harris, CMN Operations Director Lucy.Harris@cornwallmarine.net if you would like to discuss further or have any questions.
I would be grateful if you could let me know at your earliest convenience, if this is of interest please.
