The first five Apprentices, employed by Cornwall Carpets and Flooring Ltd and enrolled on CMN’s Floor layer Level 2 Apprenticeship, undertook their final assessments at the beginning of July. All were successful in achieving their Apprenticeship, with distinction grades being achieved in some areas.
This Apprenticeship is a real success for the region, being the first employer-led flooring apprenticeship programme in the country developed by industry, for industry, designed by Andy Hardy, MD of Cornwall Carpets and Flooring Ltd. The Apprenticeship is delivered by Cornwall Marine Network (CMN Training and Skills).

“I am delighted that these five young people passed their assessments and congratulations to them all. Cornwall Carpets and Flooring has always provided a high quality service but is now in the unique position to offer our customers work carried out by officially accredited fitters”. I am passionate about training and providing opportunities for local young people since starting in the industry in 1999 and thrilled to see the first employer-led floor laying apprenticeship programme delivered by CMN”
