At CMN, we provide apprenticeships that offer exciting, valuable training not only to employers – but also to the individuals who are crafting new careers.
As such, we are always looking to expand that offer and looks for new industries to work with.
CMN has engaged with the Early Years Sector specialists TLC, based in Pool, Cornwall. Their aim is to provide professional development, creating enthusiastic and confident practitioners.
CMN and TLC have collaborated extensively to develop the current delivery model of all three Childcare apprenticeships, designed by TLC in partnership with the childcare industry.
CMN have drawn extensively upon the knowledge, resources and expertise provided by TLC, in their position at the heart of the childcare sector.
TLC’s director, Steve Cowburn, told us: “TLC had extensive consultations with employers as part of the Skills Lab project to understand the barriers for childcare employers to recruit and train apprentices.
“Many childcare employers are dissatisfied with the current apprenticeship market offer. With some large training providers exiting the market, it is important to identify what is not working and how training providers can better meet the needs of the childcare sector to encourage more apprenticeships, which would help with the recruitment crisis the sector is facing.”
The Early Years Apprenticeships are offered at levels 2, 3 and 5 and include:
- A laptop for the duration of the course
- Textbooks for the duration of the course
- Supportive tutors
- Monthly classroom sessions
- Online sessions
TLC can also add value to the apprenticeship package with the Apprenticeship Development Fund offering.
- Up to £3,000 employer grant available (ESF funded and subject to eligibility and availability)
- Free Paediatric First Aid.
