Cremyll Keelboats is a charity based in Mt.Edgcumbe, East Cornwall where the Cremyll Shipyard was established over 200 years ago. Nowadays the shipyard is commonly known as Mashfords Boatyard.
The charity’s aim is to provide training in seamanship and boat building on heritage vessels to the wider public and especially to young people – our future generations of sailors and boat builders. To this end the charity offers a high standard of training courses listed below:
RYA National Sailing Scheme for Keelboats
RYA practical Sail Cruising syllabus
RYA shorebased theory courses
NVQ level 2&3 in boat building with a special focus on maritime heritage conservation techniques
work-based experience in sailing and boat building
