SuDev Projects Ltd are conducting a long-term research and development project to develop a self-sustaining Floating Marine Research Centre that can be deployed on a permanent basis in the ocean.
Key features of the facility will be that it will utilise re-tasked materials wherever possible, be modular, be expandable by adding additional modules, be self-sufficient for power, be self-sufficient for food, be self-sufficient for water and provide accommodation, offices and laboratories for the research faculty.
Prototype testing of a single module will be performed nearshore and will focus on the hull design, food production, food preparation (with possibility of a restaurant), accommodation, power generation and nutrient cycle to demonstrate that the facility can function independently on a long-term basis without frequent re-supply.
We welcome the opportunity to share the project with other partners who have interests in hull design, offshore food production, power integration and restaurants.
