Sea Sanctuary is a Cornish based mental health charity founded in 2006 and one of the world’s leading exponents of blue health, the concept that ‘blue spaces’, are beneficial for people’s mental and emotional wellbeing. Using the setting of the sea, Sea Sanctuary assess, improve and maintain peoples’ positive mental health and wellbeing through engaging in marine-based activities and health development.
Sea Sanctuary support adults, children and families who present with poor mental health such as depression, anxiety, trauma-related illness and people with low emotional resilience.
Sea Sanctuary delivers its award-winning services through a mix of unique facilities: A classic wooden yacht providing three and four-day therapeutic residential sailing programmes and ‘Water’s Edge’ our land-based hub overlooking the shoreline of the Penryn river offering clients the opportunity to socialise, regroup, relax, and find inner stability through a range of activities.
In 2019 Sea Sanctuary launch our new children’s residential services.
